YIN QUICKIE
Sequence for the meridian of the Lung, Heart and Intestine. Emotionally those meridians are connected with sadness and courage as well as hate and love.
Yin is a really gentle practice which makes it ideal for beginners and a perfect equalizer for any kind of Yang (active) practice. Here you have less variety of poses but a longer duration to hold them ( at least 3 to 5 minutes). This kind of practice targets the deeper parts of the body as ligaments and tendons. Since connective tissue is not that flexible compared to muscle tissue it needs longer to get stretched. While you are in a pose, let gravity do the work instead of pushing yourself all the way to your edge! Let the breath lead your practice!
NAMASTÉ
You hear it at the end of each yoga class and Yogis just use it all the time.. but what does it really mean this mysterious NAMASTE??
Originally coming from India and now used as a form of greeting all over the globe. But it is so much more than a casual “Hello” or formal “Goodbye”. Namaste carries this really deep meaning which makes it to one of the most wonderful and kindest words ever.
The correct translation means:
I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells.
I honor the place in you that is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace.
And, when you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me,
we are one.
Which simple means WE ARE ALL ONE no matter where we come from, no matter how old we are, no matter how we look like.. we are all equal, we are all the same.
Keep that in mind, the next time you meet a stranger 😉
Namaste to all of you,
Lisa
